About the Sleepout

About the 6th Annual Macon Sleepout

The Greater Macon Sleepout is an event where members of the community come together to show solidarity with people living homeless in Macon & raise funds to support services at Daybreak - Depaul USA's Day/Resource Center in Macon, GA.

On this night, people in our community come together and sleep outside to show solidarity with the homeless and raise funds to support Daybreak. Every weekday in Macon, an average of 75 homeless men and women walk through the doors of Daybreak to find a warm welcome refuge, relationships, and support. They come to this unique program to eat breakfast, shower, wash clothes, visit the health clinic, grab a snack, and work with case managers.

We created this campaign for everyone to contribute at various impact levels.  Be sure to review the ways you can make an impact and please share this page with your family and friends. We need your help to serve some of Middle Georgia's most vulnerable men and women and help them break the bonds of poverty to build lives of greater dignity and independence.

Help us end homelessness!

What to Expect

You will NOT experience what it’s like to be homeless by participating in this event. You will not know what it is like to live in constant uncertainty, what it's like to struggle in the most basic ways for your independence and self-worth and dignity, or what it is like to feel unsafe all the time.
What you WILL experience is a chance to join others in their space, a chance to show solidarity with Macon’s homeless, a moment to reflect on the humanity of us all, a moment to be focused, aware, and to mindfully participate in intentional, inclusive community that embraces all of us.
Please join us!
Enlist the help of your family, your friends, and your religious or civic community to support you financially in raising money for the work that Daybreak - Depaul USA's Day/Resource Center does for our community. With your assistance, we can show Macon that homelessness has no place.
